Since I began teaching drums, I have always required that my students own and practice with a metronome. Unfortunately, they have always complained that it was difficult or even impossible to hear the metronome over the volume of their drums, while practicing. The result was that many of them would only use the metronome when they practiced on a pad, or not at all. This was a problem that needed a simple, inexpensive solution, and I was determined to come up with one.

In 2003, I developed The PaceMaker CD Metronome and tested it every day in private lessons with my students. Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback I've received from students, parents, and especially fellow instructors, I decided to make it available to the public.
